I tried to get some woodworking done this weekend, figured I'd start on the guitar neck and see how far I can get. Went to my woodpile, pulled out the piece I was saving for a neck....and there it was a nice split running down the center

I know how you feel about the splits. I looked at some wood I had and there were some nice long checks in the ends. I guess I should have made a better effort of storing my wood than just stacking it on a shelf in my basement. Maybe I need to by that special paint that you put on the ends. I think I could work around some of the cracks though. If work brings you my way, drop by. I have some fretboards you may want. If you can ever get a chance to do some ww'ing again.

thanks. Yes I plane on making a second one when I get some spare cash and time. The next one will be an "S" series Ibanez shape with (hopefully) a carved quilted maple top. The body blank has been cut out and hanging around my house for quite some time.
